Sin is the transgression of the law of God"
"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." {1 John 3:4}
The great barrier between God and man is Sin.
Sin is the reason why Christ came into the world.
"Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" {John 1:29}. "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." {Matthew 1:21}
Sin is rebellion against God - disobedience to His will.
"All unrighteousness is sin:" {1 John 5:17}
Sins are the product of our sinful nature. There are sins of thoughts, word or deeds.
"For in many things we offend all." {James 3:2}
The essential step in knowing Christ in a personal way is to realize the existence of sin in our life.
