Social Science as defined by books, people and groups almost synonymously give the same meaning, with some slight variations on how they describe it.
The 1st says:
- "It is a branch of science that deals with the institutions and functioning of human society and with the interpersonal relationships of individuals as members of society."
The 2nd says:
- "The social sciences are the fields of scientific knowledge and academic scholarship that study social groups and, more generally, human society."
The 3rd says:
- "It is the study of human society and of individual relationships in and to society."
The 4th says:
- Social science is, in its broadest sense, the study of society and the manner in which people behave and impact on the world around us.
Social Science, therefore, is relating to human society, the interaction of the individual and the group, for the welfare of their beings as members of society, with the state of knowing, it has the knowledge as distinguished from ignorance or misunderstanding.
With that understanding, individual group acts and binded together to create things that would benefit their individuality and society in general. We find different groups working together having their own mission and vision as their fundamental standard to uplift the well being of their group and society.
Our government works so hard for that welfare of ours too, institutionalizing different branches to help them in extending social services to the masses like, health and social security benefits.
Different offices was also set up to address other concerns like social phobia, social studies, social network analysis, social support theory, social distortion, social disability, death records, office locations and many more.
Laws was passed to give us social justice and equality. Social responsibility was also taught to individual to educate people what is their rule in our civilized society and bring social change, if needed, to ensure peace and prosperity.
But there's another area in our society that everyone of us enjoys most. No other than, the various social online networks that we are utilizing at present to continuously interact with each other as active as ever, without living the comfort of our home. Thanks to the inventions of this present technology.
Social Science will never be dead at anytime.
